Time based routing is a services provided with the non-geographic numbers (e.g 0844 numbers) ; through this service you can route your calls anywhere according to your desired times. I.e. you can route your calls anywhere at any time of day or any day of week. The routing is done according to the schedule given to the 0844 numbers service providers. This time based routing service allows you to have time of day routing, as well as weekend and holiday routing.
Time based routing is usually used in conjunction with the welcome messaging service that welcomes the caller. You can have different messages to be played at different times, this also works according to the routing schedule that you provide to your service provider. So, you can play a different welcome message on say weekends or holidays and different message on working days or working times.
Time based routing services provided by with the 08 numbers can be described in three categories :
1)Forwarded to voicemail or a number If your call remains unrecieved for a pre-set period of time then the call is forwarded to a voice mail number where either your call recording or any other decided message is played.
2) Follow-me when a caller calls your 08 number , a sequence of numbers are rung one by one with a predefined time delay. i.e. if first one remains unattended then the call is forward to the other number, and if call on second number also remains unattended then the call rings on third number. These numbers are also provided to the service provider in the time based routing schedule.
3) Simultaneous ringing: When a caller calls your 08 number, all of the numbers that you have given to the service provider ring simultaneously and the first one to pick up the phone receives the call.
So, this facility enables you to remain connected to your callers, whether you are in your office or not .And that you don’t have to dedicate a phone line or any specific telephone device for these calls. The time based routing will enable you to receive calls anywhere at any time .All you need to do is check out your schedule, write it down, give it to the service provider and stay connected with your callers!!!
