how does filling making a CV help a normal 17 year old like myself find a part time job?
I have got all of the relevant details including my standard and higher grades below;
Standard grades:(4th year) Highers (5th year):
int 2 chemistry A / Higher maths A
int 2 Biology B / Higher English A

credit english 2 / Higher biology A

I know how fantastically well I did in fifth year which will hopefully get me into medical school but in the meantime I want to get a part time job.
so how exactly does the CV help?
A good cv should give an all round picture of yourself, it gives employers and agencies the opportunity to see whether you fit their individual requirements for the job and then to decide if they should short list you for an interview.
1 academic qualifications including names of schools/colleges etc.
2 previous experience – include work placements
3 training courses, (completed or doing now)
4 hobbies
5 aspirations
6 Why you want to work in that particular industry
7 driving licence if held or provisional
8 names of references and state it’s ok to contact them
Don’t forget to include your name, address and telephone number and if you include an email address it’s sometimes best to set one up specifically for jobs/business only. The reason for this is some employers can be rather old fashioned if everything about your cv looks brill then you have a daft e mail address they have 2nd thoughts about contacting you so please dont have a betty swallocks at dot com kind of address. Knock on doors and ask if they have any vacancies,deliver your cv to absolutely everyone and remember if you get offered a job take it (unless its exploiting you) cos it shows that your’e adaptable and willing to learn and if it doesn’t work out you will have something else to fill in on your cv when you list experience. Don’t rule out working in a voluntary capacity either cos that always looks good on a cv and its good for you too.
Hotels and bars can be good for part time employment as well. I agree you did “fantastically well” but you’re not the only one who’s out there looking for a job so take care not to sound too arrogant when telling people how good your results were, a little humble is good.
