As the holiday season continues, shopping for the perfect gift can be a little harrying. It’s not always easy to know what to get each of the people on your list, and it becomes more than a little time consuming to travel from store to store checking off each gift. Consider handmade furniture for some of the people on your list.
Not to say that you need to pick up a loveseat for Grandma or a dining room table for Uncle John, but there are several unique pieces of handmade furniture in your local Amish store that could be a beautiful accessory or addition in the homes of your friends and family.
While perusing your local Amish store, you’ll notice that the pieces are set up one of two ways. Either they’re organized by room or they’re organized by style of furniture. Once you figure out the layout of your local Amish store, it’s time for a little fun.
Amish craftsmen make some of the most interesting handmade furniture accessories and knick knacks. Look for a pretty paper towel holder in the kitchen area, or a nice key holder for the foyer. Each of the pieces is made of 100% wood and stained until they gleam. Your friends and family will appreciate a gift that is completely unique and will last them a lifetime.
You’ll find solid wood magazine racks and blanket holders for the family room and even shelves and end tables for any room in the house. The next time you visit your potential gift-recipients house, take a look to see what neat accessories would complement their space, and then take your wish list to your local Amish store and head straight for the handmade furniture section.
