Furniture designers are admired around the world by all people interested in furniture design.

The period of medieval carpenters was during the 1500 and 1800, and they usually worked only with woods. This was a period when wood was widely used for the construction purpose and carpenters were the most desired artisans. In the 15th century, they used improved tools like the present day carpenters. In those days, carpentry was an occupation that might be adopted through experience. There was no formal training or schools for the same. It required labor-intensive work. Some of the famous religious carpenters were Lord Vishwakarma, Jesus of Nazreth and Saint Joseph. The contemporary carpenters were Lewis Quaye, Mike Holmes, and Roy Underhill.

Cabinetmakers and furniture designers: The Cabinetmakers use woodworking skills to make cabinets, furniture and shelving. They used joints, bevels, chamfers, and shelving and dados system tools to create decorative edgings.

Famous English Furniture Designers and Makers:

Until the eighteenth century, the English furniture designers dawdled, whereas the European furniture designers were much ahead of them in ways of innovation and skill. The only exception to this was Grinling Gibbons, who was the master carver to Charles II or his fine carving and artistic work on the wood in 17th century. In 18th century during the rule of King William and Queen Mary, some Dutch artisans and designers took their businesses beyond the local areas such as Gerrit Jensen. In 1685 after the annulment of Edict of Nantes, various French Protestants like Daniel Marot contributed towards the outcome of the Queen Anne Furniture style.

In the Georgian era William Kent became famous. In the middle of the 18th century Thomas Chippendale and Thomas Johnson went onto become the famous designers for their peculiar designs. Thomas Chippendale was known for his smooth carved designs. Some of the furniture designers such as Robert Adam, George Hepplewhite, Thomas Sheraton and Thomas Hope contributed the golden age of English furniture designer. The Industrial Revolt saw some of the machine made furniture designers and artisan furniture designers until the advent of William Moris followed later by Ernet Gimson.

Classic Modern Furniture Designers of the 20th Century:

The 20th century furniture designers are very innovative and very creative. The new materials were used in the designing of the furniture such as chrome, PVC, plastic, and innovative use of the existing furniture materials, bending timber, laminating timber and steam bending timber into the designing of chairs, tables like never before. These designs of Classic furniture designers are still looked upon and are most preferred in homes and offices. The groundbreaker furniture designers of the 20th century were Charles and Ray Eames.

The 20th century period is the certainly the era of contemporary furniture designers. This is a bit more advanced to the periodic furniture designers. The styles of Art Nouveau and Art Deco came into application by the modern furniture designers. The historical consciousness and the sharing of information of ideas and technology have led to the expansion of the 20th century furniture designers in forms of style, design and the material used.

Today’s video is about the advantage of buying used equipment as opposed to buying brand new machines. Most new vendors become involved in vending through a business opportunity seminar or through a website. In ether case, this results in this poor unsuspecting “ripe for the picking” entrepreneur being taken for a long and very expensive ride. I know I was one of them long ago. They’re often given hugely inflated earnings potential and sold vastly overpriced, often inferior equipment.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve located for these optimistic newbies who paid in excess of $10,000 for 30 plastic bulk machines, not to mention the highly unrealistic expectations they were given of their return on investment. It’s a sad but typical story. On the other hand, after learning the hard way, I discovered the tremendous advantage of buying used equipment.

I’ve bought those same 30 bulk machines for $800 or less. Think of what that means – 12 times as many machines for the same money – 12 times the income. They paid for themselves many times in just a month or two. And, when they were stolen or broken, as vending machines often are, I could basically laugh it off compared to the heartbreak of losing a $300 machine that hasn’t even paid for itself yet.

On another video, I stress the importance of buying steel machines over plastic. But truthfully, if you can pick up plastic machines at $25 – $30 out of a garage, I would say buy them all day long. This is how I build my own route of nearly a 1,000 bulk machines by not paying full price.

So where do you find these machines? Well, there are many ways and I’m sure you can think of some, but the best deals I’ve ever gotten have usually been out of garages from somebody who tried to make a go of vending but ended up with a packed garage.

Some of the best negotiating techniques are:
Always bring cash
Have your highest price in mind
Let the other party mention an amount first
Use the magic question “What is the lowest price you can go . If I give you cash today to take these off your hands”? And,
Don’t be afraid to walk away and call them in a week or two if they are driving a hard bargain. They may be more motivated later.

Another method is to go around to machines you see on location and call them to see if they wish to sell out. Do this especially if you see the machines are not being well maintained which shows the vendor’s lack of interest. They will probably want more for these, but they will be LOCATED already and have candy in them. Plus, you will be buying up the competition. Even so I would follow the negotiating rules already discussed.

The absolute best deal I ever got was buying 80 machines out of a storage bin at an auction for $250. That’s 3 dollars apiece. By the way, those were the very same brand some “Promoter” tried to sell me out of a hotel room for $400 apiece. Think about that– 100 times as much! Also, try Craigslist and your free bargain papers.

In summary, you can’t build a very large profitable route paying full price unless you’re Donald Trump, but then you wouldn’t need the money anyway! Look for those bargins and every once in awhile you’ll surprise yourself at the steal you’ll get. Who knows, maybe there’s another storage bin auction out there.
