Woodworking is done from the ancient times itself. As the history states the Chinese and the Egyptians were fond of wood made materials on earlier days. As the time moved on and on number of woodworking equipments were discovered. Bench table saws are one among them. They are also called table saws. It cuts the wood with the support of the table. In a square working surface it is usually placed at the center. How to control the depth made by the saw while cutting the wood is a significant question. For which the answer will be just making the blade to move up or down. In those saws which where manufactured at some times earlier, they had a disadvantage that the blade cannot be moved; instead the table has to be adjusted for the outcome. So this disadvantage is overcome by the later version of table saws.

Some of the accessories of table saws are as follows. To rip long sheets of plywood and also long boards the table saws are used often. In these cases one can use an out feed table. This table helps to make the process easier. Infeed tables are another accessory which helps in cutting long sheets and boards of wood. It is efficient and easy to use. Next is Rip fence. A fence or guide is available in table saws that run parallel to blade’s cutting plane. If one have to make a position on the work piece so as to cut it in the right place, they have to adjust the distance between the fence and the plane. It is called the rip fence because it helps in rip cut.

Next is feather board. It keeps the wood against the fence. Springs made from wood are used. Magnets, expansion bars, clamps are used to held them in place. Hold down is also attached to fence with the help of magnets. Sub fence is also available. Miter gauge comes next. From front to back one or two grooves will be running in the table. These are called miter slots and they help in guiding the crosscut sled. Crosscut sled allows catching or holding the work piece at 90 degrees to blade. Tenon jig helps to vertically hold the work piece and the cuts may be done across the end. Tenons are formed here.

Stacked dado is another one to mention. It has two outer blades along with number of chip cutters that cut dados. Inserts are made of metals. Changeable inserts are available in table saws. With the help of plastic or wood it is known that insert of zero-clearance can be made. This kind of zero-clearance insert is useful because it avoids tear outs by giving support to the wood nearer to blade thereby making a clear cut. Splitter is a projection situated at the back of the saw blade and it is vertical.
